How does my company get set up to receive commission payments?

Your primary contact who signed up for the program online will receive an email within 24 hours of agreeing to the online terms from our Global Finance Team. This email includes important instructions for your company to complete Symantec’s Vendor Set-up Form. It is important that your company complete the form attached in the email and return it to supplier_admin@symantec.com and italbot@messagelabs.com for Symantec to be able to process your monthly commission payments. If you have any questions regarding this step email italbot@messagelabs.com.

When is commission paid?

Commission is paid into a Partner’s designated bank account within 45 days after the date of availability of the service to the customer. It is the responsibility of the Partner’s Primary Contact to supply accurate financial details as part of the set-up process in order to facilitate payment. Commission payments are calculated based on a percentage of a Partner’s total customer billing value. Once you have finished the Symantec Vendor Set-up process, Symantec will track your customers’ service subscriptions. Payments are wired by Symantec directly into the bank account designated on your Vendor Set-up forms.

Would commission ever be withheld?

Where commission payments are over $500 and according to your Associate Agreement we will check that the client has paid their invoice. If they have not then we will withhold the commission until the next payment run to reduce the risk of paying you commission incorrectly which would then need to be reclaimed.

How can I check what commission is due, or has been paid?

You can check what commissions are due by contacting your partner account manager in your region or contacting italbot@messagelabs.com

Do I need to invoice MessageLabs for my commission?

You do not need to invoice MessageLabs for your commission. As long as your Account Manager has allocated your client against your account then commission will be generated automatically and paid in accordance with the timescales above.

Will I receive details on the commission payments?

You will be sent a hard copy self billing invoice detailing each of the payments and including tax or VAT breakdowns so that you can account for the payments into your bank account. You will also receive remittance advice confirming that payment has been made.

What should I do if I am missing some commission?

If you think you are missing some commission then please advise your regional partner account manager as soon as possible or contact italbot@messagelabs.com.
